Adaptability Project : The Purpose
We wish to make clear that this project is not merely an academic exercise, but an act of community preparation to plan for an uncertain & volatile future. While Euglena Academy has long been a source of leading-edge systems sciences education, this project applies our wide spectrum of knowledge directly to the myriad issues facing us in the 21st century - including climate change, peak oil, ocean degradation, economic globalization – all of which threaten the stability of our planet's metabolism – called Gaia – undermining that upon which all life depends.
The Adaptability Project will be an ongoing exercise in the application of knowledge (and hopefully wisdom) to our current and future circumstances. Navigating our ever-changing social, economic, and environmental landscape will require sharing a multitude of perspectives and skills - and we believe that everyone has something to offer. We've created an environment within which everyone can step up, fill in gaps in their understanding, and contribute what they know to the community at large, thereby strengthening our collective base.
